West Weald Parish

West Weald Parish serves the villages of Handcross, Slaugham, Pease Pottage, Warninglid and Staplefield in West Sussex. Having formed a joint benefice for several years, the neighbouring parishes of St Mary's, Slaugham and St Mark's, Staplefield became one parish at the start of 2023. From January 2024 we've been known as West Weald to encompass our mission to all of the communities within our parish which sits at the western tip of the High Weald area.

Safeguarding

Our Parish is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO ([email protected]) or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.
