About Us
Our Benefice Logo captures some of the key elements about our churches:
- The text for Creakes Benefice flows as a circle, and it surrounds a second blue circle. The intention is that these forms represent our unity and inclusivity as a benefice.
- The internal circle incorporates a cross, denoting the Christian faith of the benefice.
- The cross with its lily (fleur de lys) style terminals is also symbolic of Our Lady and the churches in our benefice dedicated to St Mary, the lily being a traditional symbol of Our Lady. The blue of the circle and the accents in the benefice name is also symbolic of Our Lady.
- The stylised book with RB represents the Rule of St Benedict, symbolising our historic links with monastic orders, especially the Cluniac Priory of Castle Acre, and our emphasis on hospitality.
- The stylised chrysanthemum is representative of our benefice churches dedicated to All Saints. It is the flower often used for decoration on All Saints Day and All Souls Day and can be seen to represent solemn remembrance and love.
