Ascension Day Picnic

Thursday 29th May at 12.30 pm at Harpsden Church,

On a slightly blustery but warm and dry day about 25 of us were treated to a ‘first’ for the Benefice held in the garden at St Margaret's, and the brain child of Shelagh, David and Heather.
We started with a short service with guitar and keyboard accompaniment which culminated in a silver helium Holy Spirit balloon being released to signify Jesus ascending to heaven and all of us blowing our troubles away with bubbles. We were secretly pleased the balloon came to rest at the top of a very tall tree so now we are being watched closely and being kept very safe.
A delicious picnic feast then followed, masterminded and largely produced by Heather for which all were very grateful.
An annual event? We certainly all hope so!
