Greener Henley

Dear all,

Thank you for attending and contributing to our Community Resilience Briefing on 8th June at Henley Town Hall.

We would like to make you aware of an upcoming opportunity for your colleagues, friends or family to see the People’s Emergency Briefing film at our local Regal Picturehouse cinema on Monday 27th July at 6pm. This will be a 'Green Screen' event open to the public, involving a screening of the film with a panel discussion afterwards. We would be very grateful if you could share details of this event with your network - see attached image.

A growing number of local organisations are working on plans to host a screening of the film, and we would like to encourage more local organisations such as sports clubs, churches, schools (age rating is 16+ so screening would be for 6th form/staff/parents) and businesses to host a screening. If you think your organisation might be able to host a screening of the film, please see here for more information or contact us.

Finally, we are encouraging organisations to take our 'Make A Plan' Pledge for the Planet - a commitment to start planning to build resilience in the face of escalating disruptions such as the extreme heat we are facing this week. Important work as we will increasingly be seeing more intense and frequent extreme weather events, with the Met Office recently projecting temperatures of up to 45C in the UK by 2056.

With thanks for all of your support - we are blown away by the response we are already seeing across the community,

Kate on behalf of the Greener Henley Team
