Parish Magazine Article - April 2026

As the days grow longer and the first signs of spring appear, Easter reminds us of the greatest hope the world has ever known. For Christians, Easter is far more than a date in the calendar or a long weekend. It is the celebration of new life, new beginnings, and the victory of love over death.

The Easter story begins in darkness and sorrow on Good Friday, but it does not end there. On the third day the tomb was empty, and the risen Jesus brought hope that changed the world forever. The resurrection reminds us that no situation is beyond God’s power to restore, renew and transform.

At the very heart of the Easter message is God’s love for the world.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

In a world that can sometimes feel uncertain or heavy, this message speaks directly into our lives today. It tells us that light overcomes darkness, hope overcomes despair, and life overcomes death. Because Jesus lives, we are reminded that God’s love is constant and that new beginnings are always possible.

Easter is also a time when communities come together to reflect, worship and celebrate this incredible gift. Whether you have been part of church life for many years or are simply curious about the meaning of Easter, you are warmly invited to join us.
