Below is the recent thanks received from the Holy Trinity Night Shelter for your donations at Christmas.
Dear Reverend Jackson,
I am writing on behalf of the Holy Trinity Night Shelter to say a big thank you to St James Church for their very kind donation of £431.72 which we received in February this year. It is greatly appreciated.
The Shelter could not exist without the thoughtfulness and generosity of people such as yourselves, offering the support it does to those who have , for whatever reason, nowhere to call home, as well those who have precarious living arrangements or are particularly vulnerable.
I thought you might like to know a little of what one of our recent guests, who now has a home, recently wrote to Dave, the Shelter Manager. He said
"It was strange to start with. I panicked the first time I woke up cos I didn't know where I was. .....trying to let myself accept that it's not just somewhere temporary that can change at a moment's notice.....Thank you so much for helping me find it , and with the admin side too. I hadn't allowed myself to envisage a life with somewhere that's mine to live in. Not just someone's sofa
The warmth, safety, enjoyment and awesome cuisine (at the Shelter) has given so many of us the stable platform to make the changes towards a better life. I came to you with no hope in my heart and left with optimism. Thank you and your team so much. It's an awesome place that you've created.
The kindness, patience and care that we all received really is something special...I'm sure this is what God wants from us. To do your bit at making life better for others."
With very many thanks,
Jeannette
