Dear Friends

You may have noticed this week that the work has started on our new step-free access in St James Church, High Wych. This will make it so much easier for people with buggies or wheelchairs or sticks to get into our church unaided. This is part of our new inclusion policy as we try to make our churches accessible to all. It will take a few weeks, so please bear with us. We will be using the West Door as our main entrance over the next few weeks and this is opened every day from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm as usual. This will be the way we will enter the church this Sunday.

We also need to remind you that the APCM at St James, High Wych is taking place after our 9.30 am service and will start after coffee at 11.00 am. I hope as a member of our church you will be interested in this meeting and find out what has been happening over 2025, say thank you to David Brampton and Sam Clark as they step down as Treasurers and welcome Ken and Debbie McGowan as our new Treasurers.

On Sunday we are also trialling our new Messy Adventures when we will, weather permitting, be outside St James Church, looking at our natural world and what we can learn about soil, sand, clay etc. We have lots of exciting activities arranged with the hope of an outdoor picnic – but don’t worry we can take all the fun inside the church if we need to. I hope you can come and have some fun with us.

May I remind you that tonight sees the Ascension Day service taking place at 8.00 pm at St Mary’s, Sawbridgeworth, this is also the day when we begin to use our ‘Thy Kingdom Come’ resources where for the next 10 days we will pray for 5 people that we would like to grow closer to Jesus. The resources are all in church if you want to pick one up and you can find the online videos here:-

I hope to see you at our service, our APCM or our Messy Church – Messy Adventures this weekend.

Every blessing

Alison
