What a hot week!!

To give people the opportunity to ‘chill’ in St James we held a ‘cool’ café on Wednesday.

A couple of people came and would you believe it - one lady I knew from when I was at St Cuthbert’s 14 years ago!! She is now helping at the school. (small world). A bit of a ‘Holy Moment’.

I also had the privilege of dedicating and thanking the Lord for the safe delivery of a new baby in the village, in a short, intimate service in St James – she is only 7 days old today – and so little and cute. I am recruiting them little for Jimmy’s baby and Toddler group.

This weekend at St James we are bringing our Generosity and Giving Opportunity to a close, so this is the final week to return your response cards into the box at the back of church. I would like to thank all those who have very generously responded so far.

And so, this Sunday we have our 2 services in the morning:-

9.30 am communion service at St James, High Wych; and

11.15 am Communion service at St Mary’s, Gilston.

Followed by the baptism of Indie Peacock at 2.30 pm in St James. Indie is the newest addition to our Messy Church family. I baptised her older sister who comes to our Family service so this again is such a privilege.

I hope I see you at some point over the weekend – please stay as cool as you can and don’t forget that both St James, High Wych and St Mary’s, Gilston are open during the day and are lovely cool spaces should you need to get out of the heat.
