Dear Friends

Slightly cooler this week so far but I do understand that it is going to get warmer again.

Please remember that both St James, High Wych and St Mary’s, Gilston are open during the day if you need a cool space to be.

Some ministries are drawing to a close as we head into the holidays.

Our Jimmy’s baby and toddler group will be having their last session tomorrow, with some extra special yummy treats for little people and we will open again on the first day of the school term – 3rd September when we will have the capacity to take some new children, as some of the children that have been with us from the very start, are starting nursery/reception in September.

Wednesday Welcome will continue with our August session – when we will celebrate summer with ice creams as well as the usual cake.

This Sunday we have Messy Adventures and the session is called Wild and Weedy – we will be looking at what grows around us, doing some really messy things with moss and yoghurt, as well as wild berry pictures and fruit and veg tasting to make kebabs to go with our picnic at the end. We would recommend if you are coming to wear older clothes – blackberry juice does have a reputation of staining clothes. We will also be having parachute games and looking at the story of the parable of the sower in our celebration time. The team are having great fun pulling together the activities whilst linking them to the Bible – come and have some fun on Sunday afternoon at 3.00 pm at St James, High Wych – we will be outside as the weather forecast is good. If it gets too hot we will go into the church to cool down.

Our Sunday morning service at St James at 9.30 am is a communion service and we will be looking at the promises of God through the Old Testament and into the New Testament. We will also be discovering how our newly wrapped up ‘Generosity and Giving Opportunity’ has gone.

Looking forward to seeing you soon.

Every blessing

Alison
