Dear Friends
The busy-ness of July with so many end of term celebrations is now replaced by, hopefully, a more relaxed pace for August. Hopefully, some of you will be able to go on holiday or enjoy being more present with your family and friends and having a little more time. Or maybe not……
I am committing myself to trying to slow down a little for August. To enjoy the sunshine instead of working at my computer inside, to seeing people I care about, to breathe a little slower and maybe not getting up at the crack of dawn so I can fit everything into my day. Whatever you decide to do or can do, I hope that you will find time in your day to read your Bible and pray to the God who loves you.
I have a book called ‘Every Moment Holy’ where they have prayer for even the simplest tasks that occur throughout our day. As we come into the holiday season there are prayers for; ‘Leaving on Holiday; arriving at the ocean; for those who sleep in tents; for the enjoyment of bonfires; for sunsets; for stargazing; and also one for the Ritual of Morning coffee – I cannot reproduce them here as this communication goes out on a Church Near You – but if this would be something you are interested in I could send it to you, if you let me know.
Whatever you can do or choose to do, I hope that God blesses you with deep joy and the chance to breathe more slowly and deeply.
Every blessing
Alison
