Exciting news

St Lawrence Church is proud to announce a £102,237 grant from TheNational Lottery Heritage Fund to restore the rare mosaic Reredos in ourGrade 1 Listed Church. We will also be holding a number of HeritageEngagement Events for the local community to learn about our sharedhistory. The Reredos was built in 1869 by the Rev Baily and his family, fromstones gathered during their travels throughout Italy, Egypt and the HolyLand. This unique mosaic is of great historical significance. Without thisfunding from the Heritage Fund it could be lost forever, and our thanksgo to National Lottery players for their support. The National LotteryHeritage Fund is the largest funder for the UK’s heritage. Using moneyraised by National Lottery players they support projects that connectpeople and communities to heritage. Our first event is the ‘Ride & Stride’ on 13 Sep.
