In the period between the Ascension and Pentecost we take time to pray and wait and listen.
In recollection of the first disciples gathering to pray after Jesus’ Ascension in the expectation of receiving the promised gift of the Holy Spirit, we gather in these 10 days to pray.
Thursday 29th May, 6pm – Ascension Day Holy Communion – St Mary, Glemsford.
Friday 30th May, 6pm – Compline – St Mary, Glemsford.
Saturday 31st May, 6pm – Compline – St Mary, Glemsford.
Sunday 1st June – See Sunday rota for our morning services.
Monday 2nd June, 6pm – Compline – St Mary, Glemsford.
Tuesday 3rd June, 6pm – Compline – St James, Stanstead.
Thursday 5th June, 6pm – Compline – St Mary, Glemsford.
Sunday 8th June – Pentecost – see Sunday rota for morning services.
Compline is an ancient service of Night Prayer, traditionally the last time of prayer of the day. It’s a short service lasting 15-20 minutes.
Everyone is welcome to join – and we hope that if you cannot attend the services, you will be praying from wherever you are.
