Following a parade and an act of remembrance around the war memorial in the churchyard, all members of the uniformed groups moved into the church. Before the National Anthem was sung, the young people formed a guard of honour down the aisle.Photo taken by Jill Davis, used by permission of the unformed group leaders.
Great fun was had by all.
Thirty-five people sat down to a "bring-and-share lunch" in the church of St Peter and St Paul's in Kedington on 6 October 2024. In the last few years, the number attending has risen steadily. Today, the long table, as well as filling the chancel went a third of the way down the knave. Attenders brought sweet and savoury dishes to share, including Joan Ford's famous pavlova and Marion Farrant's cheese and onion quiche. Many hands made the clearing up swift and we left the church mice to investigate the harvest decorations. At the service earlier in the day, many gifts of tinned and packed food were brought to the altar as we gave thanks for our food and another harvest season. These items will be take to Haverhill Food Bank.
