The 3rd Sunday of Epiphany 2026 (Online Holy Communion)

Occurring

Address

The season of joyful celebration that began at Christmas now continues through the successive Sundays of Epiphany, and only ends with the Feast of the Presentation (Candlemas).

The child who has been manifested to the magi at his birth will go on to be recognised by Simeon and Anna, when he comes to be presented in the Temple according to the Law of Israel.

He is both 'a light to lighten the Gentiles' and 'The glory of God's people Israel'.

Our readings today come from Isaiah 9:1-4, 1 Corinthians 1:10-18, and Matthew 4:12-23.

Our hymns today are 'O for a thousand tongues to sing' and 'King of glory, King of Peace'.

A service booklet to accompany this service can be downloaded below or from the benefice website www.stourvalley.org.uk.
