Job Vacancy: Benefice Coordinator and Communications Assistant

Hours: 15 hours per week (flexible scheduling). At busy times up to five hours overtime per week will be required.

Pay: £14.50 per hour

Location: The Benefice of Walton and Trimley

Church Office: St. Philip's Community Hub, Wadgate Road, Felixstowe, IP11 2LY

We are looking for a well-organised and personable Benefice Coordinator and Communications Assistant to support the daily operations and communication needs of our church community across the Benefice of Walton and Trimley. This part-time role is ideal for someone with a heart for service, excellent administrative skills and a passion for clear and effective communication.

Key Responsibilities:

· Coordinate the administrative tasks of the benefice to support our Rector and the church officers

· Undertake monthly invoicing

· Prepare the quarterly service rotas

· Maintain calendars, schedules and church records

· Prepare service sheets, notices and meeting agendas

· Manage internal and external communications, including emails, newsletters and social media

· Serve as a welcoming point of contact for parishioners, visitors and community partners

Requirements:

· Proficiency in administrative tasks and IT (e.g. Microsoft Office, email systems, spreadsheets)

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Ability to work independently with initiative and discretion

· Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

· Willingness to work in sympathy with the Christian ethos and values of the Church of England

· Mandatory DBS; Safeguarding and Domestic Abuse training to be completed
