About Us

The Benefice of Long Barrow consists of 6 village churches to the West and North of Blandford Forum. The Churches are: St Nicolas, Dureston and Bryanston; St Peter, Pimperne; Holy Trinity. Stourpaine; St Mary, Tarrant Gunville; St Mary, Tarrant Hinton and All Saints, Tarrant Monkton with Tarrant Launceston. The Benefice is currently in ‘vacancy’ and has been since July 2024. However, while the Benefice was only formed in May 2025, the churches have been working together for some 3 years, holding joint services on the 5th Sundays of the months and at ministry team and church warden level. Each church continues to offer worship most Sundays, in one form or another and there is always a Eucharist Service in the Benefice on every Sunday.We are indebted to retired clergy, our LLMs and LWLs, who during the vacancy, have continued to ensure that the services are led.
