We’re delighted to invite you to our Volunteers Day which will take place on Friday 5 June 2026 from 10:00am – 4:00pm at Emmaus House, Wilton. This will be a special opportunity to support and encourage you in your church role, and for you to spend time with others serving across the diocese.
You’ll be able to choose from a range of sessions designed to strengthen your work and ministry. These include:
- Sustaining the Sacred Centre: taking time to nurture your own spiritual wellbeing. Bishop Karen
- Faculties Q&A: answers to common questions and guidance on next steps. The Church Buildings team
- Money Matters: inspiring stories of generosity, with practical ideas to help parishes move from surviving to thriving. The Finance team
- Comms Toolkit: from Canva to orders of service, with tips for effective church communications. The Communications team
- Avoiding Groupthink: making wise and thoughtful decisions in a church context. The Safeguarding team
- Connecting Communities through Church Heritage: exploring how your church building can serve the wider community. Toni Bush, Community Engagement Enabler
Alongside these, there will be a variety of drop-in sessions offering informal, one-to-one conversations on topics from giving and fundraising, to the Energy Footprint Tool, parish services, governance, safeguarding support, flower arranging and research for an Anglican Heritage Trust.
And of course, we’ll also enjoy a celebratory lunch together – hopefully in the sunshine!
Please do join us and also share this invitation with other volunteers in your church or parish.
