Baptisms and Confirmations Sunday 10th December

Notices
We are delighted that the Bishop of Doncaster, the Rt. Rev. Sophie Jelley, will be joining us for our Worship4All service at St. Lawrence's in Tinsley on Sunday the 10th of December. As part of the service, Bishop Sophie will be carrying out confirmations, renewal of baptism vows and baptisms, for which we will have a baptismal pool offering the option of baptism by total immersion.Baptism is a sign of becoming part of the family of God. Whenever it happens, whether as a baby, child or adult, baptism is at the heart of an amazing journey of faith as a follower of Jesus Christ. You are never too old to take this step, and being baptized as an adult is a wonderful experience. If you are already baptized but not yet confirmed, your may wish to consider taking this further step in the journey of faith. Confirmation involves publicly affirming your baptism vows - which may have been made on your behalf if you were baptized (christened) as child and can be seen as a welcoming into the Church of England. While it is only possible to be baptized once, either as a baby, child or adult; some people who have already been baptized and confirmed choose to publicly renew their baptism vows at a significant point in their journey of faith. There will also be an opportunity for renewal of baptism vows at this service for anyone who would like to do so.If you would like to explore the possibility of being baptized, confirmed or renewing your baptism vows at this service please speak to Rev. Phillip, Rev. Debbie or another member of the leadership team.If you have already been both baptized and confirmed, and don't feel led to renew your baptism vows, please still put the 10th of December in your diary and make attending the service a priority as we come together as a church to support those who are making these significant steps in their personal journeys of faith.
