North Wakefield Benefice

We are a benefice of four churches across five distinct communities in North Wakefield, West Yorkshire.

We have a strong desire to serve our communities through the living of Christ’s teaching and the good news of the Gospels. We may be in the 21st century but Christ is still, if not more, relevant today than ever.

It is our desire to bring an open and welcoming vision for the future of Alverthorpe, Outwood, Stanley and Wrenthorpe through cooperation, generosity, inclusion and openness.

As we begin a new phase in our churches it is our desire to embrace tradiiton and also be open to the needs of today but most of all to keep Jesus Christ at the heart of all we do.

Our Benefice is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officers (PSO) for Each Parish. Please see the appropriate parish page for contact details. Our Diocese’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSOor the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.
