We are currently in a vacancy but services continue as normal thanks to the many clergy who come to help.
Sunday worship at St Helen's is made up of a quiet service of Holy Communion at 8.30 am using the 1662 Prayer Book and a Parish Communion using Common Worship at 10 am with hymns and choir. There is a Sunday Club for school age children called FrOGs (Friends of God) during this service and a children's corner at the back of church for pre-school children. There is also a children's choir. On the third sunday of the month there is a Eucharist for the Whole Family of God in which the children take part and the church orchestra accompanies the congregation. Refreshments are served for everyone in the Canons' Room after the 10 am service every sunday. Details of other services and events can be found on the right of this page along with a short history of the church.
St Helen's has two groups for young people. The Tweens (aged 9-12yrs) meet in the Canons' Room on the second Sunday of the month from 5.30pm to 7pm. The Youth Group meets in the Canons' Room on the second and fourth Sunday of the month from 7.00pm to 9.15pm. Teenagers who live in or near Benson and who are 13-18 years old are welcome to join us. The group enjoys a range of activities from camp fires to pizza-making (and eating) and the teenagers take an active part in planning and running the session as well as getting involved in events for the whole Parish.
If you are planning to visit St Helen's and would like a look inside before you come, open the link to Church Interior on the right of this page for a panorama filmed in 2014.
Information about those buried in the main churchyard and the new churchyard on the other side of Church Road can be found using the documents on the right hand side of this page. Please note that whilst records may indicate the names of those buried in the churchyard, not all graves are marked with monuments.
