We are a diverse church family that seeks to grow closer to God and live as Jesus showed us (with love, mercy and kindness) with the help of God’s Spirit. We hope to be able to share with our community the joy of Jesus and to invite people of all ages and all nations to experience God’s love and be part of his family.
Our church is named after the angel Gabriel, who in the Bible is often sent by God in response to people’s prayers, who spent time in the presence of God, and who always told of God’s good promises. As the church family at St Gabriel’s, we hope that we can be a people of prayer, changed by being in God’s presence, and sharing with others of the good promises of God.
All people are welcome to explore the Christian faith with us, whether they are completely new to it or have been journeying with God for a lifetime. Come and join us!
Our parish of Bishopwearmouth: St Gabriel is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm.
