Surlingham: St Mary

Surlingham St Mary Church is an attractive ancient building with a round tower set on the edge of a nature reserve. The building combines early medieval flintwork with locally-made eighteenth-century brick, creating a light and spacious interior with many interesting features. It is open to visitors daily between 9.30am and 4.30pm.

Further along Church Lane you will find the ruins of St. Saviour's church, set in a peaceful churchyard managed for the benefit of abundant local wildlife. For safety reasons please do not enter the fenced area around the ruins.

The parish of Surlingham: St Mary is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO, Mrs Leo Smith (01508 493695 or the Diocesan Safeguarding Team ( 01603 882345) [email protected]

If you think someone is in immediate danger, call the police on 999.
