This winter, the café times will be extended so that eight hours of warm space will be provided for the local community. Suffolk County Council’s plan is for warm spaces every day in various venues, St Andrew’s being one of them. Practical support is also offered as each warm space will have two council employees ready to give advice on coping with household bills. The warm hospitality is also offered to families; Damon is conducting a survey with the local primary school with a view to serving family community meals. In Lowestoft the ‘street folk’ are also provided for as the cafés take turns in offering free food.
