Norfolk Wildlife Trust survey

Volunteers play a vital part in NWT's Churchyard Conservation Scheme. The 13-strong team record plants and other wildlife across thirty-nine churchyards. Last year they ran thirty-seven churchyard activities, including survey days, workshops (from wildflower identification to scything) and advice visits, attended by over two hundred people.

A summary of the survey carried out at St Andrew's Church by a team from Norfolk Wildlife Trust is displayed on the noticeboard in the church. An area in the churchyard has been set aside for continuous monitoring and these grasses and flowers are never cut or mown.  Many different (and some rare) species were identified in the survey.
