Sunday July 13 2025 9.30 am. A special morning service for and in remembrance of Flight Sergeant Pilot Lancelot Percival Williamson, late of this parish, on his 80th anniversary. The service begins at 9.30 pm in this Early English Gothic church in which he is buried and is a forerunner of planned wider celebrations of the church’s own 700th anniversary. It includes readings from Gareth Calway’s poem “The Ballad of Lancelot Percival Williamson” which, when published online with the late airman’s previously unseen photograph, reconnected Williamson’s descendants (now no longer local) with their lost relative. Four generations of his family will be present at the service. The service will also showcase a performance of “Bring Me To Fring All Saints” a musical version of the poem by Sedgeford folk duo Peacock’s Tale Musical Storytelling aided by their musical friend and neighbour, the harpist Vanessa Wood-Davies. This performance will be repeated and filmed after the service at Flight Sergeant Williamson’s commonwealth grave itself after which refreshments will be served in the church.
