Hillington: St Mary the Virgin

Welcome to St Mary the Virgin Church which is part of The Sandringham Group of Churches

A lively and welcoming Group in North West Norfolk, comprising the Parish Churches of Castle Rising, Flitcham, Hillington, Sandringham, West Newton and Wolferton.

Hillington Church has had to suspend public worship on safety grounds following two separate incidents where plaster has fallen from a wall and ceiling; the organ has sustained some damage. There is currently no public access to the church, and it is closed temporarily while work is carried out. Worship continues in other churches in the Group.

All enquiries welcome through emailing [email protected]

As rural country Churches we seek to serve the whole community and believe that Gods life in Christ is for everyone. Each Sunday we worship God using mostly the traditional language of the Book of Common Prayer but also including services for families and children.

Safeguarding

Our group of parishes are committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officers.

If you are a child and you are concerned about something that is happening to you or to your friends please call Child Line on 0800 1111. It is free and will not show up on your phone bill. If you are able to, you can also talk to a member of staff at school who will be able to help you.

For adults with concerns, please click the link to the Diocesan Safeguarding web pages where you can find the Safeguarding Advisor’s contact details and details of how anyone can report a concern.

To contact our Parish Safeguarding Officer, Jayne Windsor please email [email protected] or call 07754 898411.

If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the Norfolk County Council’s Advice and Duty Service on 0344 800 8020, and the police on 999 if an emergency.
