Surveying and Scything the churchyard

This week, Caring for God's Acre's churchyard task team came with their scythes and cut the grass. We had left the grass growing since the Spring so that the wildflowers and grasses could be identified. A couple of weeks ago, Beautiful Burial Grounds brought Rob Rowe to help a group of interested participants count and list the species. Over 80 species were found!  So now, the grass could be cut. Thank you to the team for their work.  They will be coming back again to help us manage our churchyard in the best way both for those who visit and to maintain the unique habitat.
