The Evening Hour is a quiet, reflective service with readings, prayers and music which takes place in the North Transept of Hereford Cathedral on the second Sunday of the month.

The service focuses on prayer for healing and wholeness, and those attending may bring concerns for healing for themselves, for someone they care for, or for the wider world in which we live. The Evening Hour takes place in a circle around a candle, and readings or reflections are shared by those leading the service. There is also the option to join in with a Taize chant or well-known hymn for those who wish to.

Following on from the success of The Hereford Passion in 2024, Hereford Cathedral will be staging a theatrical production of the Nativity, directed by The Revd Canon James Pacey.

The Hereford Nativity will tell the story of the birth of Jesus of Nazareth with a focus on the relationship between Mary and Joseph and the struggles which they, and other people, faced in ancient Judea. In a fully staged production, the Hereford Nativity will explore the origins of Christmas in a fresh and dynamic way which will appeal to Christians and non-Christians alike.

The performance will begin at 7.30pm (doors open at 7pm) and tickets cost £10 per adult and £6 per child. Group discount applies - purchase ten tickets receive your 11th for free.

Please note that there is no interval in this production.
