Thursday August 14th 2026 was a major milestone in the National Lottery Heritage Fund restoration of St John the Baptist, Nash, when the wonky weathervane at the top of the spire was brought down ready for restoration.

After a visit by the Hereford Diocesan Advisory Committee, who review and authorise all church repairs, PCC members cleared the interior of the church and handed it over to the team at Dan Paddock Building Solutions Ltd., who will now start protecting the organ, the stained glass windows, the altar, the rood screen and all the other historically important fixtures ready for work on the roof to begin on September 7th.

The church is now closed for worship until the rebuilding work is finished. Although re-opening is scheduled for the end of January 2027, we have allowed an extra 2 months as a contingency in case any unforeseen problems come to light.

All Nash services are moving to the Village Hall, starting with our “Exploring Christianity” session on Sunday September 6th. The services at our sister church at Boraston on each 4th Sunday will remain unchanged.
