Usually there is Holy Communion, Order One with hymns on the Second Sunday of the month and a Holy Communion Order Two service of Holy Communion with hymns on the Fourth Sunday of the month, all commencing at 9.45 am. On the First and Third Sundays there is a service of Holy Communion at 8.00 am at the Pilgrim Centre (see separate entry). When there is a fifth Sunday we have a group Benefice service at one of the churches at 11.00am plus Holy Communion at the Pilgrim Centre at 8.00 am. There is a Eucharist service held within the Benefice every week. Please see the services notice in the 'News and Notices' section for the location.

Stokesay: St John the Baptist

The Church of Saint John the Baptist: founded in the 12th century, rebuilt in the 17th century.  Serving God and the community of Craven Arms into the 21st century.

Our church stands in a glorious setting amongst the hills of south Shropshire, adjacent to Stokesay Castle, one of the jewels of English Heritage's crown.  We aim to keep the church open for visitors to enjoy in line with the opening hours of the castle.

Sunday services of Holy Communion are held at the Pilgrim Centre in Dale Street, Craven Arms on First and Third Sundays of the month at 8.00am.  On the Second and Fourth Sundays, the service with Hymns is held at Stokesay at 9.45am (during the winter months, these services are held at the Pilgrim Centre).  The Fifth Sunday is a joint Benefice service - see service poster in Notices section for details).
