Our second Songs of Praise took place on 29th October where we were treated to a varied programme of hymns and worship songs played on the organ, the music group and an MP4 track. The hymns were chosen by members of the congregation who were able to introduce the reason why they had made their choice. It is always interesting to hear the stories behind the choices. Some of them were quite interesting. Our next Songs of Praise will be held at 10am on New Years Eve - 31st December. If you wish to make a request, please send it in by email and we will do our best to include it in the programme. We intend on holding Songs of Praise every time there is a 5th Sunday in the month which is about 4 times a year. Watch this space.
Come along to the church for a delicious bowl of homemade soup and bread. Meet old friends and make new ones in the warmth and welcome of this lovely building. Donations will be collected for Tearfund which a Christian charity that partners with churches in more than 50 of the world’s poorest countries. They tackle poverty through sustainable development, responding to disasters, and challenging injustice. Believing that an end to extreme poverty is possible.
We were delighted to put together two van loads of donations of warm clothing and essentials to send over to Ukraine. We took them over to Attwell Farm park in Redditch where Oakland International Haulage took them over to the Ukraine border with Poland. Whilst donations of goods have stopped for now, we continue to raise much needed funds to support this appeal.
