St Wilfrid's Cowplain

Welcome to St Wilfrid's

We are the local Church of England parish for Cowplain and part of Horndean, near Waterlooville in Hampshire. We’re a welcoming church for all ages and stage of life. Whether you've always gone to church, or if you've never been before, you'll find a huge welcome and a place here that is perfect for you.

Our Sunday morning services are at 9am (Traditional Holy Communion) and 11am (SUNDAYS @ 11 relaxed and informal service for all ages and stages in life).

On Thursdays, our 10.30am Holy Communion service  is a traditional service which is friendly and welcoming.

As Christians we believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He’s alive and wants to help us all through the ups and downs of life. Being a Christian is the best possible way of living!

St Wilfrid's Cowplain is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officers (PSOs). The Diocese of Portsmouth’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.

Safeguarding

St Wilfrid’s takes safeguarding very seriously. We actively promote and pursue Portsmouth Diocese’s Safer Recruitment Policy, whereby everyone who wishes to work for the church with children, young people or vulnerable adults who may be at risk of harm to first undergo a thorough recruitment process including a DBS (Disclosure and Barring System) check before they can take up their positions. They also have to provide us with satisfactory references and agree to undergo regular training.
