St Giles, Leigh-on -Mendip
Welcome to the Parish Church of St Giles in Leigh on Mendip, Somerset - a Grade I Listed Building
We are a rural church in the middle of Somerset, and are connected to neighbouring churches of Downhead, Stoke St Michael, and the Postlebury Group.
On 16th October 2025 the Reverend Keith Johnson was installed as Priest in Charge of our group and will be leading our services into the future. We heartily welcome him and thank the clergy who have supported us through the vacancy.
We are a small congregation, but friendly and enthusiastic. Visitors to our services and other events are warmly welcomed.

Safeguarding
The parish of Leigh on Mendip with Downhead is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies but no longer have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO) as Justine North has moved on. We thank her for her support over the recent years.
The Diocese of Bath & Wells’ safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
Further details of our Church policy is on the Safeguarding section of the website
