The new joint benefice of Fosse Trinity (Ditcheat with Alhampton, East Pennard and Pylle), and Pilton with Croscombe and North Wootton have recently appointed a Priest-in-Charge, the Revd James Sharp, who comes to us from having been a Pioneer Priest in Bournemouth.James will be licensed to this benefice on 26 February in a service at 7 pm at St John the Baptist church in Pilton. All are welcome to attend and to meet him and his wife Andi. They will start off by living in the Rectory in Ditcheat until work on the Rectory in Pilton has been completed, at which point the latter will be their permanent home. The Fosse Trinity benefice joined up with the benefice of Pilton, Croscombe and North Wootton in January 2025. We now hold joint services on the first Sunday of every month, rotating around the parishes. The first service, to inaugurate our new working arrangement, was on 5 January 2025 at St John the Baptist, Pilton, when the president and preacher was the Archdeacon of Wells, the Venerable Anne Gell. Since then, we have been rotating around the two benefices, with every parish hosting a joint service during the year at 10.30 a.m. See the page on services for our new rotas.
