A quiet hour to refresh your inner self with Taizé style prayer and worship. We’ll focus on ‘Learning to Pray.’ With readings, a beautiful selection of chants, silence and prayers – take time out for quiet reflection.

The Bible can seem like a confusing assortment of events, poems and wise words. The Bible Course explains how the parts of the Bible come together to reveal an eternal God who keeps his promises.

Over 8 sessions we will journey through the sections and events of the Bible, and introduce key characters. Each session of The Bible Course uses video and discussions, but no prior knowledge is required and a course book is available. Join us for a short Holy Communion service without singing. Everyone is welcome to attend even if you don't live in the village. This is a great service to come to if you find it difficult to attend Sunday services or if you want to celebrate Holy Communion during the week.

A group for babies, toddlers, pre-school children and their parents/guardians/carers to attend, where children can enjoy playing together with a story, songs and refreshments. It's also a great place to meet other adults caring for little ones of a similar age. This group runs term time only.

There will be Holy Communion, hymns, prayers, Bible readings and a short sermon too. Plus tea and coffee served after the service when you can meet Bishop Fiona.

Wookey Church is named after Saint Matthew’s and we’ve holding a special Open Day which all of the community is invited to attend.

Ever wondered what the view is from the top of the church tower? Join a free tower tour to see part of St Matthew’s which is normally off limits. Outside, we’re holding a treasure hunt for children with nature activities explore how the churchyard supports local wildlife. Inside, there’s a self-guided Walking Tour around the church showing some interesting historical features. There’s an I-Spy Quest for children to enjoy too. Want to just relax? Come and enjoy tea and cakes, and listen to a performance by Choirworks! All donations are welcome, to help us maintain this historic church, and benefit the local community.

Prayer meetings are informal and are a great opportunity to pray for the world, the Church, and individuals known to us. Everyone is welcome to attend even if you don't live in the village, and these services usually last 30-45 minutes, and run on alternating weeks.

Following great success at Wookey Church Hall and Wells Little Theatre, MADBand (five local middle-aged dads, Andy Healey-Childs, John Carroll, Steve French, Steve Collinson and Graham Blunt) will perform your favourite boy band songs at Henton Church. They will be supported by Lyn Hynde and Polly Carroll singing popular hits. A fabulous evening is in store. Tickets are available at £15, from [email protected] or [email protected] and all proceeds will go to the Christ Church Henton Revitalisation fund and a dementia charity. There will be a cash/card bar.

Join us for a traditional Holy Communion service using the Book of Common Prayer. The includes Bible readings, saying The Creed, and set prayers throughout the service.

Join us at this informal breakfast at Henton Village Hall. Arrive anytime between 9am and 9:30am. There'll be food, an optional quiz and a talk. There is also activities and crafts for children. This is a great monthly event to attend, and a wonderful way to explore your faith. New people and families are always welcome to come along.

A gentle hour of Taize-style worship on the theme of listening to God, with the invitation to ponder how we respond to God. Music and chants led by David Secchi and Elizabeth Ife, inter-woven with times of silence, prayer and Bible readings.

Join us for meditation/ silent prayer, which is a universal spiritual tradition. Meditation takes us to the depths of our being, to our true self and to the pure experience of God in the ground of our being. Afterwards stay for coffee and tea and a chance for a chat.

Coxley, Henton and Wookey churches are celebrating Harvest Festival together this year. Remembering that this year has been particularly difficult for farmers and gardeners, we thank God for the crops, vegetables and fruit that have been harvested, and the wonder and beauty of the natural world around us. With some well-known harvest songs, Bible readings, prayers and a short talk. If you would like to contribute food donations in the service these will be taken on to Wells Foodbank.

To celebrate the harvest, we invite you to an informal bring and share lunch after our harvest festival in Coxley Church. Suggestions of items to bring include: bread, cheese, cooked meats, coleslaw, salads, quiche, or chutney/relish. You don't have to attend the Harvest Festival to attend the lunch.

Enjoy some delicious puddings and test your general knowledge in our quiz night at Wookey Church Hall. Our annual All Souls service, will be hosted this year by Henton Church. This is a gentle service to remember loved ones who have died and everyone is very welcome to attend. We remember the sacrifice of those who served in WW1, WW2 and other wars. We look forward to welcoming everyone to this thoughtful service of remembrance, with songs, prayers and a short talk.
