Advent – A time for the Kids?

An advent discussion about Jesus – in this first session we are challenged to look at Jesus’ life. Was he meek and mild as the carols would have us believe? Or instead, a demanding and controversial Saviour?

This session is part of a series: ‘Life in a Comma’, which helps us to see Christ as more than just the baby in the manger or the saviour on the cross. The sessions are all standalone sessions, so if you can’t attend all of the sessions you’ll still get something out of it.

An advent discussion about Jesus – we’ll consider images of Jesus in popular art and culture. If we see Jesus as vigorous and determined, here to save the cosmos, what difference would that make to how we address our world’s problems?

This session is part of a series: ‘Life in a Comma’, which helps us to see Christ as more than just the baby in the manger or the saviour on the cross. The sessions are all standalone sessions, so if you can’t attend all of the sessions you’ll still get something out of it.

Come along to Henton Church's Christmas Fair, to find local produce including preserves, cakes and juice. Craft stalls with local ceramics, wreaths and Liberty fabric gifts, cards, kids' toys, books and stocking fillers and more!

Advent Sacred Space

Sacred Space - an hour of quietness to ponder the Christ, Light of the World, who comes to us in these darkest days and waits for us to let him into our lives and transform us by his presence. You can pop in at any point between 7 and 8pm on Thursdays in December before Christmas.

At 7:45pm there will be led prayers and a reflection on an individual in the biblical record, whose faith shone out like a candle in the dark, and through whom God sought to guide us.

Christingle: Festive Celebration

This is a special festive event - please join us in Wookey Church with activities for children, carols and hot drinks.

A Christingle is an orange treat with sweets, candle and a ribbon - which symbolises the birth of Jesus Christ and the Light of the World. Making a Christingle reminds us of God’s love for us and is part of the joy of getting ready for Christmas.

Familiy and friends are very welcome to come along too! No need to book, just come along.

Carol Service

There'll be lots of carols plus the traditional mix of poems, reflections & bible readings, with candles and mulled juice / wine to follow. There will be a collection during the service, with half the money donated going to a charity chosen by Henton church and the remainder to support the ongoing work of the church.

In the past couple of years this has been a well attended event, and a lovely event to experience in the build up to Christmas! We look forward to welcoming you!

Nativity Play

Christmas Eve is a very special day and as we tell the Christmas story we will need lots of helpers to act out the parts. We can provide costumes or you can come ready dressed. Please join us for carols, laughter and hot chocolate. This is a lovely event for families and children.

Midnight Mass
