A quiet hour to refresh your inner self with Taizé style prayer and worship. We’ll focus on ‘Learning to Pray.’ With readings, a beautiful selection of chants, silence and prayers – take time out for quiet reflection.

Join us as people from all three parishes plus Bishop Fiona come and worship together. We're rotating the services around the three churches, and this time we're in Wookey Church on St Matthew's Day. There will be Holy Communion, hymns, prayers, Bible readings and a short sermon too. Plus tea and coffee served after the service when you can meet Bishop Fiona.

Wookey Church is named after Saint Matthew’s and we’ve holding a special Open Day which all of the community is invited to attend.

Ever wondered what the view is from the top of the church tower? Join a free tower tour to see part of St Matthew’s which is normally off limits. Outside, we’re holding a treasure hunt for children with nature activities explore how the churchyard supports local wildlife. Inside, there’s a self-guided Walking Tour around the church showing some interesting historical features. There’s an I-Spy Quest for children to enjoy too. Want to just relax? Come and enjoy tea and cakes, and listen to a performance by Choirworks! All donations are welcome, to help us maintain this historic church, and benefit the local community.

Following great success at Wookey Church Hall and Wells Little Theatre, MADBand (five local middle-aged dads, Andy Healey-Childs, John Carroll, Steve French, Steve Collinson and Graham Blunt) will perform your favourite boy band songs at Henton Church. They will be supported by Lyn Hynde and Polly Carroll singing popular hits. A fabulous evening is in store. Tickets are available at £15, from [email protected] or [email protected] and all proceeds will go to the Christ Church Henton Revitalisation fund and a dementia charity. There will be a cash/card bar.
