40 days after Easter, we are celebrating the ascension of Jesus to Heaven, with a special Holy Communion service. This year the service is taking place in Henton.

This is the only service that is taking place today within the benefice. It's a speical occasion so we'll all coming together! Come and join us as we celebrate one of the main Christian festivals: Pentecost. God gave the disciples the gift of the Holy Spirit, which enabled them to follow in Jesus' steps and continue spreading the Good News with everyone. We'll be celebrating the special gift of the Holy Spirit in today's service. There'll be activities for children and there'll be prayers, a short talk and singing as well as the opportunity to have Holy Communion on this special day.

This is a group prayer walk from Wookey to Henton, where we'll be praying for key areas. We're meeting at Wookey Church to start this 2 mile walk, travelling over pavements, roads and footpaths. (Please note that some of these surfaces might be uneven.) Rogation walks are traditional countryside events, to allow people to pray for blessings on their area. We'll end the walk with tea and cakes at Henton Church, and you are very welcome to come to just this part if you'd prefer. We aim to reach Henton around 4pm.
