Do we think that failure is inevitable in human experience? This session is part of a series: ‘The Mystery of Everything’, which draws on the lives of Stephen and Jane Hawkins, and which features clips from the film 'The Theory of Everything'. During the series we will explore ways that the mysteries of the universe and of everyday life can energise our faith and spiritual journeys. The sessions are all standalone sessions, so if you can’t attend all of the sessions you’ll still get something out of it. An upcoming discussion is at 7:30pm on 31st March. Please email Katrina [email protected] to get the address of the location in Wookey.

Christ Church, Henton

Welcome to our page on A Church Near You!

Christ Church Henton is a beautiful church in the village of Henton, near Wells. We are part of a group of 3 churches and 4 parishes, known as a benefice, which are looked after by Revd Jan Shellard-James.

The first phase of Revitalising Christ Church Henton is starting in January 2026, so the church closed on Monday 29th December, and we plans to reopen in early May 2026.

On the 1st Sunday of the month there is a relaxed service over breakfast at Henton Village Hall, which is free, and very much enjoyed. Sunday Breakfast will continue to take place while the church is closed, as this takes place at Henton Village Hall. The weekly prayer meeting will also continue to take place, at a private home in Henton.

While the revitalisation work is taking place people are encouraged to visit Christ Church Coxley or St Matthew's Church, Wookey. Some services at the other churches have been added to Henton's service schedule, but please visit the churches individual pages.

You are very welcome to come to any of our services or events, and details of these can be found on this website, or on our own website www.chwchurches.co.uk There are also more details about the this church and the benefice on our website.

If you have any enquiries about baptisms, christenings, weddings, funerals or memorials please get in touch with us.

We look forward to welcoming you to our church!
