About Us

All Saints' in Oakhill is one of six churches which is (soon to become) part of the 'East Mendip Hills' Benefice.

Each month, Oakhill holds a Morning Worship service, which is open to all and family friendly.

All Saints' is a Bronze Eco Church. It has a well equipped hospitality room (with a kitchen and toilet facilities) which can be used for wakes or fund-raising. The church has a full-working organ and a bell tower. On weekends, the school car park can be used.

History:

In May 1861 Richard Strachey of Ashwick Grove gave a sum of £110 15s to the Ecclesiastical Commissioners of England to purchase an acre of land in the village of Oakhill with the intention of building a new church to be called “All Saints”. The church was designed by John Loughborough Pearson and is of great height, typical of churches designed by him. It has “High Victorian” massiveness and simple but bold treatment of the lancet style windows and has a full working organ. The churchyard surrounds the church, which stands in the heart of the village, with a safe, easy access to Oakhill Church School and Nursery.
