ASH WEDNESDAY 2025 Ash Wednesday is the beginning of Lent, when the Church remembers the 40 days that Jesus spent in the rocky wilderness of Judea, wrestling with the temptations to misuse his power. Christians use this time to pray more, reflect on Jesus' teachings in the Bible, and perhaps make some symbolic gesture of self-denial, such as fasting or giving up alcohol. At the end of Lent we will celebrate Easter Day, on Sunday April 5th, when Rev. Judith Lincoln will lead worship with Holy Communion. Refreshments will be served, possibly with chocolate!!
