Stay and Play

What is Stay & Play?

"Stay&Play” is a friendly, relaxed group of Mum’s, Dad’s carers and their babies and pre-schoolers, who meet in St George’s Church Hall.

We get together to have a chat and refreshments, let the children have a fun, relaxed playtime, with a simple craft, and some singing and dancing too!

When Is Stay & Play?

We meet Wednesday mornings from 9.30am - 11.00am in term time, in St George’s Church Hall.

How do I join?

Just come along! No need to sign up beforehand, just come to the Hall and you’ll be most welcome. It only costs £2 per family to cover the costs of refreshments, craft supplies and our annual ActionAid donation to help other families.

Do I have to come every week?

Not at all. There is no pressure to come each week, just come when you can! We know how hectic lives can be with babies and pre-schoolers so we are here to help whenever you can come!

Do you do anything additional to the Wednesdays ?

Now and again we may have meetings and sometimes the odd chance to go out without the children in the evenings!

At Christmas the children get really excited as we have a visit from Father Christmas when children receive an inexpensive gift (provided by parent/carer) followed by a party. Our last session in December is our Christmas celebration in the church when the children get to dress up (and look really rather adorable!).

At Easter we have a quick service in Church followed by an Easter Bonnet Parade (non-competitive of course!)

And the last session before the Summer holidays, we celebrate together with a Leavers Service for those moving on followed by a party and a picnic.

Can I park at the Hall?

There is some space for parking around the hall, but it is limited. Please try not to obstruct others or in case of emergency, access for Emergency Services vehicles. If you cannot park next to the hall there is a pay and display car park next to Vivary park, in which case you would not have to pay for your session at Stay & Play.
