The No More Knives tour, involving Christians from the Message Trust, has been visiting schools across the area, including St Christopher's, giving a Christian message to lay down the instruments of violence and to take on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Fr David and Fr Jordan were present when the tour visited St Christopher's and Fr Jordan accompanied pupils from a number of primary schools in Accrington as they visited the Cathedral to see the Knife Angel, which has been in place outside the Cathedral for the last couple of weeks. The final gig of the tour was a concert at the Cathedral on Friday night, which saw around 500 young people gather to hear music from a number of Christian bands, including OTC, who spent time in the schools also. It was great to see so many young people, together with their enthusiasm for the music, and also their openness to hearing the Gospel proclaimed in such a way. Our prayer is that they may be prompted to connect with their local churches, and through this encounter, may come to deepen their relationship with God and his Church.
