Safeguarding

Our parish of Blackburn St Thomas with St Jude is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). The Diocese of Blackburn’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO.

If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO, Sean Holliday (tel: 01254 233330), or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor, Catherine Smith (tel: 07711 485710 or by email to [email protected] ).

More general safeguarding enquiries (non-confidential) can be addressed to [email protected] (tel: 01254 503088).

If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and the local authority’s children or adult social care services (tel: 01254 666400 or, ut of office hours, 01254 587547).
