Though we cannot gather together to mark this important occasion, mass will be celebrated to give thanks for VE Day, 75 years ago, and to pray for peace in our nation and across the world.
In addition, material has been produced to assist in people's prayers and worship at home, and we are encouraged to join in with our friends at St Laurence's Church for Chorley's Civic Service at 3.00 pm, where the Mayor and the Speaker of the House of Commons will be taking part.
