As tributes pour in for Prince Philip, we join in prayer.

We join in prayer, mourning the loss of His Royal Highness Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh. Our thoughts are with Her Majesty The Queen and family.

God of our lives,
We give thanks for the life of Prince Philip,
for his love of our country,
and for his devotion to duty.
We entrust him now to your love and mercy,
through our Redeemer Jesus Christ.
Amen.

At noon on Saturday 10th April 2021, The Captain of Bell Ringers tolled the Tenor Bell 99 times and the union flag is flying half mast.

We will observe a 2 minutes silence at each service on Sunday 11th April 2021 followed by the playing of the National Anthem.

The church is open for private prayer on Tuesday between 10am and 12 noon and we are inviting people to use this time should they wish to spend time in prayer.

Due to Covid 19 constraints we are unable to safely offer a book of condolence, however you are invited to consider two Online books of condolence which are available. The first is on the Church of England’s Website: www.churchofengland.org and there is another on the Royal Family website: www.royal.uk

Bishop Julian concludes his message with the following:

“Our prayers must now be for Her Majesty the Queen, as hers have so often been for us, and for the wider Royal Family as they deal with this personal loss very much in the public eye.”
