Our main Sunday morning service is usually 'Morning Praise'. Once a month, most often the 2nd Sunday, there is Holy Communion and some months, most often the 3rd Sunday, there is a Baptism. Praise is led by the Music Group and the service is family oriented with children going to their own activities part way through the service. Bible teaching is an important part of the service and there is always a sermon.

The Lord's Supper (Holy Communion) is held each Sunday at 8.45am, except on the 5th Sunday of a Month when the service is Morning Prayer. We follow the Book of Common Prayer (1662), there is always a sermon and hymns are sung led by a pianist. This is a traditional service but not stuffy!
There is usually a service of Holy Communion on the first Wednesday of the month at 1.45pm in the afternoon. Occasionally the service is a different week so it is best to check the church website. The service is a simple BCP communion and followed by refreshments. On most other Wednesdays there is a Bible Study group meeting in church at 1.45pm.
The evening service is held jointly with the parishes of St. Barnabas Heapey and St. Paul's Withnell but is always held at St. James. A smaller, quieter and shorter service with a talk and opportunity to pray. 1st Sunday - Evening Prayer (Common Worship) 2nd Sunday - Prayer Meeting 3rd Sunday - Evening Prayer (Book of Common Prayer) 4th Sunday - Night Prayer 5th Sunday - Holy Communion The service is not normally held during school holidays.
