We are pleased to announce two appointments to our parish, with effect from later this month (June 2026).

The Revd Dr Tom Woolford has been appointed as Priest in Charge of Leyland St John on an interim basis until 31st December 2029. This is an additional role for Tom who continues to be Vicar of New Longton All Saints.

Secondly, John Harding has been appointed as Assistant Curate to be known as Curate in Charge. John will be the minister providing day-to-day ministry in our parish. While Tom will hold overall responsibility, his day-to-day role will be mostly focussed on supporting John as training incumbent.

Tom will be licensed at a short service at Bishop’s House on Wednesday 24th June 2026. John will be ordained deacon and licensed on Saturday 27th June 2026 at Blackburn Cathedral. To allow John to finish his current role he will be with us on Sundays from 28th June and then full time from 26th July.
