There is a welcome for everyone here! We are a vibrant Parish Church community, with a large and lively congregation made up of people of all ages and varied backgrounds. Whilst we are rooted in the Catholic Tradition of the Church of England, it is our experience  that people from all traditions and backgrounds feel at home here.

Our parish life and worship is centred around encountering Jesus in Word and Sacrament, so the Eucharist /Mass/Holy Communion is at the heart of our life together. Sometimes this is very simply celebrated, and at other times with rich ceremonial, but always with Christ at the centre!

These are the usual times:

Sunday

9am Mass  Simply celebrated, and usually livestreamed.

11am Parish Mass   with Junior Church in term time. On the first Sunday of the month we usually have an All Age Mass, so there is no Junior Church on that Sunday.

(At the 11am service, you can expect to find a warm welcome in a reasonably full church, some parts of the service are sung, there is congregational singing, thoughtful (but not long!!) preaching, lay participation, altar servers, some use of incense on special days, and other aids to prayer. All are welcome to stay for coffee etc afterwards.)

6pm Evening Service  This is usually a simple, quiet Mass using some reflective music, and giving space for reflection. Sometimes the service varies.... we may have Evening Prayer, Benediction, Stations of the Cross, a Taize Service, or Songs of Praise.

Midweek Worship

The clergy usually gather at 9am for Morning Prayer. If you wish to unite yourselves with this, we use the App "Universalis"

Wednesday 10am Mass (followed by Coffee etc) at The Ascension and 6pm Mass at St Martin's, Westgate

Thursday 12noon Mass

Saturday 10am Mass

For enquiries about Baptism (Christenings), Weddings or Banns of Marriage, we usually have an "office hour" on Saturdays from 10.45am for 1 hour. If this is not possible for you, please ring 01524 413144 to make an alternative appointment.
