“A Church Near You St Nicholas Fleetwood” It’s some months now since the PCC took the decision to use the platform provided by the Church of England for the St Nicholas website. If you type into Google the above title it will take you to our site. Amongst the usual items is a page dedicated to

HRH Prince Philip and a link to the book of condolence, which you may wish to access. If you have internet access please do take time to have a look at the website and be sure to sign post others to it.

Windows in the church tower – We have been working very hard to find a solution to fix the problem we have with the massive window frames in the east and west of the tower. When the wind blows the frames move considerably and rain water pours down the walls and on to the sanctuary floor. We have looked at every conceivable way to make the windows water tight and secure, weighing up the cost of repairing the 60 year old frames against total replacement. Our latest plans to replace the windows in the tower have this week been approved at diocesan level. It still has to go to the Chancellor and then the Registrar and if approved a public notice will be displayed for a further 30 days. It is going to cost thousands of pounds but as stewards of our beautiful church building we have little option. Further information will be available at the annual meeting which will be held towards the end of May when we can (hopefully) meet physically together. In the meantime do please pray that this is the right way forward and that help with the huge expense will be provided.

Please continue to pray …… for Alan Mather, Elsie, Nigel, Kenneth Binks, Gillian, Margaret, Jane, Tom Boyd, Linda Edwards and Mandy Barling. Please also remember the families of Baby Ryan and Margaret Murphy whose funerals will take place this week.
